Anglia Towbars (Newmarket) Limited is a new, dynamic and expanding company which has emerged from the original company Anglia Towbars Limited, since the retirement of its original founder Stan Cousins.
Now under the new management of Gavin Mayes, an original senior technician with a longstanding reputation at Anglia Towbars (Newmarket) Ltd., and who will continue to honour past customers warranties.
The original company was sited in Exning village and later moving to its current location which has a much larger, purpose built premises. Anglia Towbars (Newmarket) Limited It is set on the original company site, amongst pleasant countryside surroundings on the outskirts of Newmarket and within easy reach of the A14 at junction 37. The buildings incorporate a pleasant waiting and Reception area, a tow bar fitting workshop and store.
Due to the new Company’s growing reputation of efficient quality workmanship, a majority of work is received ‘by word of mouth’ and referral and is often used by large local firms, like the Marshalls Motor Group, Elms BMW, the Vindis Group, Cambridge Mercedes and the EMG Motor Group.

Vehicles are either fitted while you wait or can be left in a secure area while work is being carried out, and collected later whenever convenient. If customers do wish to wait in the reception area they can make themselves a drink and have time to sit and relax in the warm, even to catch up with a newspaper.
In some instances customers can be driven into Newmarket to do some shopping while they wait, but this is only if arrangements are made when booking in. Within the large, modern, well equipped workshop our fitters aim to provide a clean, efficient service, taking great care to ensure that all vehicles are returned to customers in the same condition that they are received, and can offer advice on the best tow bar for the vehicle.
Gavin always makes sure that only the most suitable electrical wiring kits are used for fittings, those which are specifically designed for the vehicle, with the manufacturer’s approval to ensure we remain NTTA quality tow bar fitters. These wiring kits are often more expensive than other cheaper, less efficient types (often seen for sale on the internet), but this means that they are compatible with the vehicles computer systems and will not cause problems later on. Problems from cheap unapproved wiring can create a very expensive problem later on, even to the event of spoiling a holiday!
We hold a large selection of competitively priced tow bars in our capacious stock room with quality names like Witter and Brink. Our suppliers give us a quick and efficient service, which means we can order tow bars that are not stock items for almost any type of vehicle without having to wait very long.
A mobile tow bar fitting service is available within a 25 mile radius of our base. A well equipped van are currently used for mobile fitting and used specifically for this purpose.
